On the Quality of Service for Fully-distributed Event Processing System

With a long history of the quality of service study over several areas of research, there are some common attributes in concern for both static and dynamic service cluster such as timeliness, performance, and reliability. Our study towards a fully distributed and self-organized stream event processing service faces specific challenges due to its highly dynamic environment. In this paper, we reconsider the quality of service in such a system separately for strictly-specific information quality and weakly-specific operating quality and introduce their utility function and quantification metrics.
