Dear Dr. Ernura,
On behalf of the IEEE Computer Society (CS), Im deeply honored to send you a commemorative plaque in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ). During its'60 year history, IPSJ and its members have contributed to the advancement of the computing profession and developed leaders in our field.
The IEEE CS and IPSJ have had a long-standing, collegial relationship. Our societies have collaborated on membership activities and joint activities like technical conferences, including the successful 2018 COMPSAC conference held in Tokyo. Our leaders have been engaged in mutually beneficial information exchanges. There is a tradition of Computer Society presidents speaking at the annual IPSJ conference and IPSJ representatives speaking at our Board of Governors meeting. In recent years, IPSJ and the IEEE CS established the Young Computer Researcher Award, to honor young researchers for their outstanding achievements.
On this special milestone anniversary, the IEEE CS congratulates IPSJ for its history of contributions to computing, and looks forward to continuing our partnership with IPSJ in the years to come.
