MTU Analysis for Integrated Wireless Authentication System

Nowadays, Wireless LAN is widely used around the world, while access restrictions are often set for security purposes. Integrated Wireless Authentication System (IWAS, Japan Patent No. 4332000) is invented for securely sharing Wi-Fi to the public using Layer 2 VPN and distributed authentication method. However, the maximum size for an IP packet will decrease due to the overhead of VPN and authentication. This paper studies MTU for IWAS under various circumstances by analyzing different headers in the transmitted data.
