ミトコンドリアのタンパク質を用いた水棲生物の分子系統解析

In this study, we clarify characteristics of aquatics without gills and the difference between aquatic mammals and terrestrial ones by a molecular phylogenetic analysis. All creatures have mitochondria that are deeply involved in energy metabolism of creatures. Thus, we analyze amino acid sequences of proteins coded in mitochondria because mitochondria are suitable for samples to analyze not only closely related species but also a wide range of species.
