Nowadays, people are getting more familiar with the use of social media like Instagram or Twitter where a huge number of tweets are posted daily and where a good part of them is related to food. Since food is a broad part of every culture around the world, eating choices can greatly reflect someone’s cultural identity. However, traditional methods used for discovering food culture differences and similarities are mainly based on surveys, which make it very difficult to represent an important statistical sample at a large scale. In this paper, we propose a method using Geo-tagged tweets with meals related keywords and properties, for analyzing and investigating people food habit.
