Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “Intelligent Transportation Systems and Pervasive Systems that Recreate the Value of Physical Mobility”.

The spread of the virus that began with COVID-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which started just as we were about to move beyond the infection and into a new era, made the world aware of the fragility of the real world and led people to strongly consider what the world should be like in the future. Looking at our social activities, people's criteria for physical mobility are changing as remote work becomes more prevalent. In addition to pursuing greater efficiency and comfort for mobility, it is time to reevaluate the fundamental value of why we use mobility in the first place. We believe that it needs to look at not only technical issues, but also proposals, hypotheses, simulations, and social experiments to create new mobility values.
Under these circumstances, it is timely and meaningful to have special issues dedicated to both technological and social issues.
In the special issue of "Intelligent Transportation Systems and Pervasive Systems that Recreate the Value of Physical Mobility", the program committee especially seeks paper submissions in these areas, as follows.
・Mobile Communication System (Architecture, Protocol, Management, Security)
・Sensor Network, Information Appliance / Home Network, Ad-hoc Network
・Communication Media (5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, IrDA, DSRC, Digital Broadcasting)
・Mobile / Pervasive / Ubiquitous / Wearable Computing
・Mobile Agent, Mobile Web Service
・AI / Edge Computing / Cyber-Physical System
・Mobile Application (Smart Mobility, Healthcare), RFID Tag System
・Intelligent Transportation System
・Geographic Information System, Location-Based Service
・Human Machine Interface High-Performance Handheld Devices, Electronic Payment, Security, QoS, OS
・Transportation Management (Supply Chain Management, Traffic Estimation, and Prediction System)
・Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
・Image Processing (Lane Departure Warning System, Object Recognition, Traffic Flow Observation)
・Ubiquitous / Internet Intelligent Transportation System
・Mobility (Land/Sea/Air) Utilization Solutions, Market Analysis, Social Simulations

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is currently encouraging more submissions from outside of Japan.
The publication fee of any accepted papers will not be charged if all the authors of the paper belong to institutes outside Japan.

Submission Guidelines

(1) All papers must be submitted electronically. Please access the following URL and proceed under the submission instructions:
