Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers in a special issue on Advances in Collaboration Technologies.
In this special issue, original research papers on CSCW and the related fields are widely solicited, as well as the extended versions of those presented in CollabTech 2016, CRIWG 2016, and the associated workshops. The paper must contain original contribution to the fields. Topics may cover a wide range of issues associated with: social computing, crowdsourcing, inter-cultural collaboration, cooperative communication or community, embodied or physically embedded collaboration, geo-collaboration, cooperative VR/AR, collaboration devices, computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), collaborative entertainment, cooperative design, organization design and engineering, social media, collaboration user interface, and other collaboration technologies and their applications. Prof. Tomoo Inoue of University of Tsukuba, Japan has been invited to be the guest editor-in-chief for this special issue.

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is currently encouraging more submissions from outside of Japan.
Any papers electronically submitted to this special issue are free of publication charge when accepted.
Non members of IPSJ can also submit papers to JIP.

Submission Guidelines

(1) All papers must be submitted electronically. Please access the following URL and proceed under the submission instructions:

In the event you would like to make a submission, you must first create an account on the paper submission Web page. For detailed information, please refer to the manual available from the link “Submission Rules and Document Types” at the top of the submission page.

(2) All papers will be reviewed. The review process will be carried out in the same manner as regular issues. However, you have shorter time than usual (two months) for preparation of your responses to inquiries.

(3) Submission deadline is May 10, 2017 May 24, 2017. *Deadline extended.

(4) The special issue will be published on the J-Stage website in February, 2018. Preprint will be published on the IPSJ Journal in February, 2018.

(5) Any papers accepted to this special issue are free of publication charge.
