Call for papers - Special issue of "Software Engineering"

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “Software Engineering”. Authors may submit papers to the regular paper submission process of JIP; or authors may submit symposium papers (full papers) accepted for Software Engineering Symposium 2017 (SES 2017), sponsored by Special Interest Group of Software Engineering, IPSJ. In the latter case, submitted papers will be reviewed not only as symposium papers but also as the papers for this issue simultaneously (provided that authors want it). The guest editor of this special issue is Shingo Takada of Keio University.

This special issue targets state-of-the-art research results and case studies in the following areas of software engineering.
Target Areas: Requirements Engineering, Architecture/Design, Components/Reuse, Test/Analysis, Formal Methods, CSCW, Software Process/Workflow Software, Security, Software Safety/Reliability, Reverse Engineering/Maintenance, Grid Software, Software Economics, HCI/UI, Empirical Software Engineering, Metrics, Aspect Orientation/Service Orientation, Distributed/Parallel Processing, Software Tools/Environment, Software Policies/Ethics, Programming Languages, Object Orientation, AI/Knowledge-Based Software Engineering, Embedded/Real-Time Software, Internet/Information System Development, Project Management, Software Engineering Education.

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is currently encouraging more submissions from outside of Japan.
Any papers electronically submitted to JIP before July 31, 2017 are eligible for 30% discount in publication charge when accepted.

Submission Guidelines

(1) All papers must be submitted electronically. Please access the following URL and proceed under the submission instructions:

In the event you would like to make a submission, you must first create an account on the paper submission Web page. For detailed information, please refer to the manual available from the link “Submission Rules and Document Types” at the top of the submission page.

(2) All papers will be reviewed. The review process will be carried out in the same manner as regular issues. However, you have shorter time than usual (two months) for preparation of your responses to inquiries.

(3) Submission deadline is August 2, 2017.

(4) The special issue will be published on the J-Stage website in April, 2018. Preprint will be published on the IPSJ Journal in April, 2018.
