Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of "Education and Computers".
Education has become an important matter in information technology as its great progress today. Academically, a lot of papers of Education and Computers (CE) studies have been published a lot and discussed various topics: educational methods, curriculums, materials, environments, governmental principles and so on. Commonly also, several educational issues have been discussed as objects of public concern: such as a short supply of IT engineers, corporate in-service training in the information industry and computer literacy for accustomed users. CE issues are no longer specific problems to discuss only within experts.
IPSJ contains some special interest groups about CE, and also has hosted several symposiums. The importance of studies and researches on CE has become swelling, and diverse topics of papers are expected to help development of educational computerization; such as reports of practical use in schools, and presentation of educational supporting tools and contents. This time we are making a concerted effort to attract excellent CE papers and to complete the special issue of IPSJ Journal.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:
> Information engineering
> Pedagogical designation and evaluation of computers
> Computerization in elementary, secondary and higher education
> Corporate in-service training to be IT engineers
> Materials for CE
> Educational supporting tools
> E-learning, CMS, LMS
> Evaluating methods for CE.
