Introduction

As the Internet industry, IoT and Artificial Intelligence technologies rapidly grow, there is an intensifying need for high quality engineers and programmers. Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) conducted the International AI programming Contest "SamurAI Coding" every year since 2012, aiming to cultivate the younger generation so they can become leading researchers, developers and successful on global level.

The 9th SamurAI Coding will be held between October 2020 and March 2021. Contestants will compete with each other over their engineering skills for AI and programming. Winners of the preliminary round will move on to the final round that will be held online on 19th March 2020, collocated with the 83rd IPSJ National Convention (online). Participating engineers and programmers will be able to demonstrate their skills on a global level through this contest.

For World Finalists:

Winners of World Final will receive prizes. Moreover, there will be some Sponsor Awards and Gifts (TBD).

All World Final contestants will be awarded and presented at this website.

Game and AI

Contestants compete on their design and engineering skills of algorithms and AI strategies in addition to programming skills. We plan to use a game called SamurAI Dig Here 2020, in which a samurai works together with a dog, both are controlled by an AI program, to find more treasure than the opposition. (This game is a revised version of SamurAI Dig Here used in SamurAI Coding 2019-20).

Contestants can choose a certain programming language among various major languages.
