Call for papers - Special issue of "Collaboration technologies and network services in the age of generative AI/ agentic AI"
Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing
Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “Collaboration technologies and network services in the age of generative AI/agentic AI”.
In modern society, the widespread adoption of generative AI and the rise of agentic AI have led to the deep integration of AI and digital technologies into every aspect of daily life and industry. Through proactive collaboration and division of roles between humans and AI—and even among multiple AI systems—efficiency in daily tasks and convenience in everyday life have greatly improved, while remote and cross-border collaboration and knowledge creation have accelerated. However, the rapid expansion of these technologies has also brought negative consequences, such as excessive dependence, the hollowing out of decision-making, copyright infringement, ambiguity of sources, and the generation and dissemination of misinformation. These issues have made challenges related to privacy, security, and accountability increasingly evident. Furthermore, while convenience has improved, there are growing concerns about the decline of informal conversations and spontaneous interactions, leading to the weakening of human relationships. In this context, there is a pressing need to reexamine the design and implementation of collaboration mechanisms composed of humans, AI, and networks, and to establish trustworthy and inclusive foundations for collaboration and network services.
For this special issue, the editorial committee invites paper submissions on topics related to collaboration and network services to contribute to the further development of research. The main topics of this special issue include, but are not limited to, communication and interaction, awareness, knowledge management, information sharing technologies, distributed/physical space support systems, AI/robotics applications, cyberspace and metaverse, multi-user/multi-modal interfaces, remote work/telework, cross-cultural exchanges, dialogue analysis, and social/administrative services. We also invite submissions on theories and technologies of collaboration and network services, as well as practical evaluations in various fields such as healthcare, welfare, education, disaster prevention, and tourism. We encourage vigorous submissions and look forward to your contributions. The editorial process for this issue will be conducted under the “Guest Editor System.”
