Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of “the Internet and operation technologies for utilization of IoT”.
The spread of IoT (Internet of Things), which connects to the Internet by adding various sensors and other functions to various 'real' in real space is accelerating. The background of this is not only the progress of device technology but also the further development of networks and cloud environments and the progress of AI technology to support advanced utilization of data, etc. Of course, the Internet plays the role of the foundation that supports the utilization of IoT. In addition to that, it is also important to research and develop network operation management technologies that require more sophisticated demands. In addition, AI technology is expected to greatly contribute to network operations management in the future as well. On the other hand, high-level roles that human beings should do, such as network design construction and successor training, are still necessary.

In this special issue, we will publish papers on the latest research, development, experiment, and operation for utilization of IoT. We welcome a variety of papers related this theme including practical experiences that can be generalized and useful for readers. Takashi IMAIZUMI at Chiba University has been invited as a guest editor for this special issue.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following areas:
 ● Utilization and operation management of IoT devices
 ● Internet technology supporting IoT utilization
 ● Operation management technology for secure IoT environment
 ● System operation management technology and AI
 ● Other topics related to IoT and IOT
