Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of "Collaboration Technologies and Network Services that Concentrate Wisdom toward Future Society".
Changes can be observed in the recent ICT environment, as shown in the advancement of user devices from PCs to tablet PCs and feature phones to smart phones, data migration from terminals to cloud services, cooperation of network services using HTML5, aggravation of cyber-attacks due to the vulnerability of network service structure, and urgent need for establishment of utilization policy of large scale social logs in network services. On the other hand, there are a lot of social challenges and expectations toward future, for example, low birthrate and aging population, globalization, energy problems, disaster prevention and restoration, the Tokyo Olympic in 2020, and so on.
In these circumstances, it is required to promote research and development for constructing cooperative technologies or network services to face with such social challenges and to meet expectations of the society.
In this special issue, the editorial committee of the journal is seeking paper submissions on collaboration technologies and network services to congregate the knowledge and wisdom toward future society. Topics may cover a wide range of issues associated with information/knowledge sharing, social computing, ubiquitous computing, secure network services, medical treatment or social security, network services for disaster prevention/reduction, collaboration, education/learning, and communication theories and technologies. Dr. Noriaki SAITO of NTT has been invited to act as the guest editor for this special issue.
