Call for papers - Special issue of "Software Engineering"

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the call for papers for a special issue of "Software Engineering". Authors may submit their papers in the regular paper submission process of JIP individually or together with Software Engineering Symposium 2012 (SES2012) if they want to do, sponsored by Special Interest Group of Software Engineering, IPSJ. The submitted papers can be the same as ones submitted to the SES2012 symposium or its extended version. The guest editor of this special issue is Dr. Katsuhisa MARUYAMA of Ritsumei University.

Target Areas

This special issue targets state-of-the-art research results and case studies in the following areas of software engineering.

Requirements Engineering, Architecture/Design, Components/Reuse, Test/Analysis, Formal Methods, CSCW, Software Process/Workflow Software, Security, Software Safety/Reliability, Reverse Engineering/Maintenance, Grid Software, Software Economics, HCI/UI, Empirical Software Engineering, Metrics, Aspect Orientation/Service Orientation, Distributed/Parallel Processing, Software Tools/Environment, Software Policies/Ethics, Programming Languages, Object Orientation, AI/Knowledge-Based Software Engineering, Embedded/Real-Time Software, Internet/Information System Development, Project Management, Software Engineering Education.

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is currently encouraging more submissions from outside of Japan.
Any papers electronically submitted to JIP before July 31, 2013 are free of publication charge when accepted.

Submission Guidelines

(1) All papers must be submitted electronically. Please access the following URL and proceed under the submission instructions:

(2) All papers will be reviewed. The review process will be carried out in the same manner as regular issues. However, you have shorter time than usual (two months) for preparation of your responses to inquiries.

(3) Submission deadline is May 7, 2012 May 14, 2012.
*Submission deadline has been extended.

(4) The special issue will be published on the J-Stage website in April, 2013. Preprint will be published on the IPSJ Journal in Feburary, 2013.
