ACMとの協定書

 

Joint Member agreement
Between the
Information Processing Society of Japan
And the
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

POLICY
The 273th Board of directors (Dec 15, 1983)
The board of directors approves the recommendation for a joint membership agreement between ACM and IPSJ . The joint membership agreement is to be implemented January 1, 1984.

PROCEDURE
1.(a)IPSJ shall admit such Member of ACM(other than student members)who shall so desire as members of IPSJ at the grade of membership to which their qualification and experience them and

(b)ACM shall admit such Member of IPSJ(other than student members)who shall so desire as members of ACM at the grade of membership to which their qualification and experience them.

2.Each member of a society who joint under this joint membership agreement will receive all the benefits and privileges of members of their grade as if they had jointed the other society directly unless stipulated elsewhere in this agreement.
This includes but is not limited to dissemination of publication as may from time to time be determined by each society except that neither society will develop policies which clearly discriminate against only the members of the other society.

3.Subject as herein provided all members of ACM and IPSJ who shall be admitted as members of IPSJ and ACM respectively shall be bound in all respects by the respective constitutions, rules, and bylaws to which they shall have been admitted.

4.Both IPSJ and ACM shall allow to members who shall be admitted to membership by virtue to this agreement a discount of 20% on the basic annual membership fee payable be members of each body.

5.The agreement will be effective from and including 1st January, 1984 with all outstanding commitments as of that date honoured through their natural termination. Members joining either society under this agreement subsequent to that date would be accepted by the society following their natural termination.
Members joining either society under this agreement subsequent to that date would be accepted by the society following the society's normal procedure, prorating the first years payment, if necessary to accommodate to the possibility of differing dues cycles.

6.IPSJ and ACM agree to prominently display the joint membership agreement benefits in their membership promotional material and renewal forms.

7.IPSJ shall supply to ACM and ACM shall supply to IPSJ one copy of every formal periodical regularly issued by such body, it being the intention that there shall at all times be a full exchange between both bodies of all information on all aspects of computing technology and education.

8.once a year control purposes, the two societies will exchange lists of those who have availed themselves of the privileges of reciprocal membership and who at the date of return, are counting to so avail themselves.

9.Nothing in the agreement shall prevent the parties hereto from arranging and conducting their affairs in the manner best suited to themselves. However, each society agrees not to specify benefits or restrictions which apply only to member of the other society.

10.This agreement may be terminated by either party hereto giving to the other not less than 12 months notice in writing to expire on 30th November in any year.
