Monitoring System to Minimize Wild Animal Hazards by Using Individual Organism Recognition Method with the Raspberry Pi and Computer Vision.
Wild deer grazing in farmers' and villagers’ fields has caused serious troubles for the residents and concerned authorities here in Northern Hokkaido of Japan. Trying to solve the problem we present a system to monitor and identify each deer. Our research plans on finding the most troublesome deer by identifying the deer individually. The study of the deer behavior is the possible solution to minimize the troubles caused by the Ezo Shika deer. Raspberry Pi is hooked with the PIR sensors, a stepper motor, and a camera to capture the deer in any direction. Solar power is planned to be used for the outdoor implementation of the project.
