Improving the Communication of Online Open Campus with Video-Based AR and Avatar
Due to Covid-19, online open campuses become popular now. However, there are limitations on object pointing during the user's communication because of the lack of interaction with the real world.
To solve this problem, the system is required to recognize the environment of remote places. We propose and implement a system of using remote AR for online open campuses to allow users to visit the campus and use AR functions remotely. Our core idea is video-based AR technology. It can remove the constraints of location and time from AR by recording and playback a video. We use this as an approach for remote AR. In this way, users will get a remote AR experience like they are on campus anytime, anywhere.
