In computational fluid dynamics, numerical simulation of fluid–structure interaction (FSI) problems is one of the most important research areas. Incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (ISPH) method is a commonly used Lagrangian particle methods for free surface flow analysis. In this research, a partitioned coupling analysis system developed for numerical simulation of 3-dimensional FSI problems by adopting ISPH method and finite element method (FEM) has been employed. To evaluate the performance of this system toward large-scale problems, we demonstrated a dam-break problem with an elastic obstacle and compared the results calculated by this system and other methods.
