Under the requirement of Japanese Fundamental Law of Education, every Japanese child has a duty to study for at least nine years. However, some children with long-term hospitalization cannot pursue their education in the classroom because of the disease/illness they have. To support them, we are developing an educational support system, called “KOCHI”. This system support learning activity as well as to help teachers, doctors, nurses, and parents to monitor the child patient’s health condition during their hospital stay. The evaluation result of our prototype shows that “KOCHI” might be acceptable for learning activity in the hospital.
