Recently, the concept of power-proportional has been gradually widely-recognized as one of important characteristics of storage system. In such systems, the power level of nodes can be managed to provide proportional power-performance ratio corresponding to system's utilization level. Based on this idea, a number of proposals focusing on data placement, load balancing and so on have been proposed and evaluated to be successful in providing such characteristic to storage system. However, their performances still not been directly compared with each other yet. In order to have clear vision, in this paper, two representative proposals in this area are described and then, the evaluation on their performances is reported.
