The Comparison between Ring and Flicking Scrolling Techniques for Document Navigation in Touch-based Devices

Scrolling is a fundamental task in graphical user interfaces. Most of users cost plenty of time on reading document. For most of documents are very long, the user need to scroll up and down frequently to other part of the document. Ring scrolling and flicking scrolling as two basic techniques for document navigation on touch-based devices, the differences of them on efficiency such as scrolling time and cross errors between the two scrolling techniques were not investigated. Therefore, in this paper, we examine the difference between them in different condition.
