Scope
IPSJ Transactions on Bioinformatics (TBIO) is an academic journal
published by the Information Processing Society of Japan (
IPSJ). TBIO mainly publishes
peer-reviewed research papers in English, focusing on bioinformatics,
computational biology, as well as any related areas. TBIO is edited and
managed by the Special Interest Group on Bioinformatics (
SIGBIO), IPSJ.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Evaluation is done based upon
the merits of the paper. Papers which present originality or usefulness
will be considered for publication. Papers may be evaluated on their
future value. Competent level of English writing is required. TBIO is
an online journal via
J-Stage. TBIO is currently
operated as an open access online journal.

- Three categories of submissions are as
follows.
- Original Paper
- Paper stating original research results.
- Survey Paper
- Paper providing a survey of past or existing research.
Usefulness of the survey must be made clear to the judges.
- Database/Software Paper
- Paper which introduces a novel database or software
development, etc. Differences from current databases or software must
been shown.
- The length of a paper (of any type)
should be at least three pages (in the final format).
- The contents of a submission should

published in. In other cases, the authors are responsible for the
copyright issues and if accepted the copyrights shall be transferred to
the IPSJ.
Submission Process
- First, send the paper submission form
to trans-bio-editors@ipsj.or.jp. The
form is available from here.
- Immediately after the above step, send
another e-mail to the same e-mail address, with the paper attached.
- Acceptable formats of the electronic

sufficient quality.
Review Process
- Confirmation of submission will be
sent to the author generally within three days, and the editor in
charge of this submission will be notified within one week.
