A Complementary Criterion to Evaluate the objective Image Quality Assessment

In order to evaluate the performance of image quality assessment algorithms, the derived assessment results are compared with human quality judgments, which are used as “ground truth”. The relationship between the objective and subjective results is characterized by a number of metrics as suggest by the video quality experts group. However, currently available metrics do not establish a full evaluation
on how well the objective results are coherent to human judgment. This paper suggests a complementary metric to address this issue.
