Systems are said to be resilient if, upon a large scale disturbance, they can recover from the temporary loss of their functionality. Systems Resilience is a new project at ROIS (Research Organization of Information and Systems) aiming at constructing a body of knowledge that can be used for building resilient systems, based on the insights in various fields such as biology, ecology, environmental studies, social science, statistics, and computer science. This paper gives the overview of this multi-year project with its current focus.
