CALL FOR PAPER

In Japan and in other industrialized countries and regions of Asia had attained near 100% penetration of “Broad Band” internet infrastructure. On top of that, the coverage of mobile phone based internet with near broadband capacity present a truly “ubiquitous” internet infrastructure.

This is a dramatic change which has been rapidly spreading through this region and is creating a new frontier which had been in the imagination to be come reality. Technologies which are capable of bridging between “real” and “virtual”, such as QR code with mobile phone camera and free software and micro-RF-ID chips, have vast frontier to investigate. It is a frontier which may be explored by technological and engineering aspect as well as from the perspectives of business applications and regulations perspectives.

This workshop tries to focus on how we can best use the evolved internet and cope with this complex challenges.

Bridging “real” to “virtual” is easier than before. One can easily dive into the deep ocean of “virtual reality.” It open up a very attractive frontier for all of us including business sectors – a service sector which will succeed the industrial sector – in other words, ITeS (IT enabled Services).

We need to discuss various factors such as follows.

  1. How easy it should be?
  2. In what kind of technology should we depend?
  3. How sophisticated the interface should be?
  4. In what way the technology can be embedded into the business model?

We invite not only business persons or regulators but also engineers, all who are interested in open up the frontier of collaborative development of application of internet – the application in ITeS.

Proposals, reports on research, new technologies, business models dreams, analysis on regulations and so on, all are welcomed.
