CALL FOR PAPER

Theme of the Workshop

Middleware is a layer of software that acts as glue between applications and the Internet. Although it can be difficult to define what middleware is (see RFC2768), it is widely known that it provides access to fundamental services via a range of functions that support authentication, authorization, accounting, directories, resource management, information discovery and retrieval, and security. Middleware solutions are starting to mature with a number of frameworks emerging that should ideally make use of common reusable components and tools. It is an enabler to allow access to shared resources and services to allow collaboration, teaching and learning to take place across heterogeneous networks in a secure and scalable way. This workshop aims to share experiences of developing and managing middleware platforms from both a technical and policy aspect. It aims to bring together the domains of application developers and middleware and security experts to identify areas of overlap and best practice so that the development of solutions can be simple and ideally modular in nature to ensure applications can be developed quickly and easily whilst conforming to middleware and security standards. The scope of the workshop includes but is not limited to the following topics:

Papers and Author's Kit:

Workshop papers should be within 4 pages, no extra page is allowed. The Proceedings of the Symposium and the Workshops will be published, in separated volumes, by the IEEE Computer Society Press. Registration:

It is the IEEE policy that accepted papers can be published only when IEEE recognized that at least one author has registered for presentation. So, authors will be requested to register along with the final manuscript. SAINT Conference Registration fees include a copy of the Conference proceedings, a copy of the Workshop proceedings, and admission to the Conference/Workshop sessions.

Note:

The date and length (a full or half day) of the Workshop will be decided by SAINT2008 Organizing Committee taking account of the number of submitted papers, and be notified on the SAINT2008 web. Please also note that, according to the SAINT2008 Organizing Committee, the Workshop is subject to cancellation when the number submitted of papers will not be enough.
