Call for Papers:Workshop on Networked RFID in SAINT2007 

Workshop Description 
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology has already been 
penetrating daily life. Electric transactions, and ticketgate operations 
in transportation systems, particularly in trains in Asian countries, using 
contactless IC card are the symbolic systems. Long range RFID using UHF 
passive RFID and active RFID has been also gathering significant industrial 
interests especially in the supply chain management and international logistics. 
Behind the primal features, such as contactless identification, writable, 
and stainproof reading, the largest benefit and feature of RFID are cross-company 
sharing of the vast information fed by RFID systems from real space using the Internet. 
This is the Networked RFID. International standardization organizations, 
such as ITU-T and EPCglobal have been exploiting the area in the name of NRFID or 
EPCnetwork by standardizing the interface among the entities in the information space. 

Networked RFID actually requires physical layer study involvements, 
such as tag data and wireless system, which mostly confine the communication performance 
as well as the information system study. Perspective from applications 
and social impacts are also of significance to define the technological requirements 
in this growing technology area. This workshop provides a unique gathering place of 
the multi-layer studies whose primal target is Networked RFID. 
The encouraged topics for submission to the workshop are as follows. 

advanced Tag Circuitry 
interference in RFID system 
advanced inventory protocol 
sensored RFID system 
service discovery 
data synchronization 
RFID security 
large RFID system management 
RFID application in anti-counterfeit and safe and secure supply chain 
business model and social acceptance of RFID technology 
RFIDs in real business applications 

Important Dates for Authors 
Paper submission due: September 22, 2006 
Submission of the final manuscript of accepted paper: November 1, 2006 

Paper Submission
Workshop papers should be within 4 pages, no extra page is allowed. 
The Proceedings of the Symposium and the Workshops will be published, in separated volumes, 
by the IEEE Computer Society Press. Please follow the instruction on the web below for preparing your Workshop papers.

Papers should be sent to the Organizer (saint2007networkrfid@autoidlab.jp)
 no later than September 22, 2006 in the form of full paper. After a review process 
 by Organizer and Program Committee of the Workshop, authors of accepted papers 
 will be requested to send its final manuscript to IEEE-CS press no later than November 1, 2006. 
 So, authors are kindly requested to submit papers as early as possible to facilitate a review process. 


Registration

It is the IEEE policy that accepted papers can be published only when

IEEE recognized that at least one author has registered for presentation.

So, authors will be requested to register along with the final

manuscript. SAINT Conference Registration fees include a copy of the

Conference proceedings, a copy of the Workshop proceedings, admission to

the Conference/Workshop sessions.
