Proposed SAINT2004 Workshop 5: Service Oriented Computing

An emerging area of service oriented computing addresses key technical issues of how 
to create future applications that are self-organizing, scalable, adaptive and evolve. This 
workshop focuses on key research issues in service oriented computing from its 
platform/framework to support service creation to controlling autonomous service 
components, and discovery of services.  


Important Dates:

  Paper Submission (for regular paper sessions): Oct 7, 2003
  Demo presentation proposal submission (for a demo session): Oct 7, 2003
  Notification: Oct 20, 2003
  Final Manuscript: Nov 1, 2003
  Workshop Date: one full day during Jan 26-30, 2004


Submission guideline:

Papers should be sent via e-mail to suda@ics.uci.edu no later than October 7th.  We 
accept papers in PostScript, PDF and Word.  Please include “SAINT 2004 Workshop 
Paper Submission” in the subject of e-mail.

There will be a session where various demos are presented. If you would like to present 
your demo in this session, please send your short demo proposal to Prof. Suda 
(suda@ics.uci.edu) by Oct.7, 2003.  Please include “SAINT 2004 Workshop Demo 
Proposal Submission” in the subject of e-mail.


Topics to be discussed in this workshop include, but are not limited to
  - future applications 
  - service emergence
  - autonomous service composition
  - middleware framework to create flexible services
  - service description
  - super distributed service objects
  - evolution and adaptation of autonomous service components
  - Platform support for autonomous service components
  - P2P discovery in support of services

Sessions consists of both invited and open-call papers. 

This workshop also welcomes demo presentations that showcase key technologies in 
service oriented computing.
