Refining Programming Course Plan with Contextual Inquiry and Student Behavior Data

This paper presents a method to achieve a successful plan for a programming course. A course plan will be refined over courses to accomplish an optimal one. We start with understanding students using the contextual inquiry method. Second, we establish concrete services for motivation, learning, assessment and objectives. Third, we integrate the services into a course plan, examining advantages and disadvantages of each service. Finally, we apply the course plan to actual classes, to monitor student behavior for the evaluation.
