Forum
on Information Technology(FIT2002) |
Date:Sept.
25(Wed.)to 28(Sat.), 2002 |
Place: Ookayama Campus, Tokyo
Institute of Technology(Meguro-ku, Tokyo) |
[Detail and Purpose]
Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) and Information
and Systems Society (ISS) of The Institute of Electronics,
Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) announced
an agreement to promote cooperation of both the academic
societies to meet a rapid expansion and a structural change
of information technology, and to contribute to further
development in this field in March 2001. This forum is the
first result from this agreement. The annual convention
of Information Processing Society of Japan in autumn and
the IEICE ISS conference are merged into a unified conference
"Forum on Information Technology, FIT" under the
joint auspices of IPSJ and ISS. Our goal is not only the
cooperation of IPSJ and IEICE, but cooperation of all the
people engaged in information technology. A steering committee
of FIT that is independent from IPSJ and IEICE was organized
for easy participation of related groups.
Forum on Information Technology-2002 (FIT2002) is the first
implementation of the above-mentioned series of conferences.
Here, the steering committee confirms the basic policy "We
redefine the objective of the conferences to accommodate
with current and future state of information technology
and innovates the conference programs". In response
to this statement, FIT2002 will have various new types of
programs. FIT is wished to become one big foundation to
develop the information field in the future through presentations
and the information interchange in the conference.
